Yellow Iron Worx History
1989
Heavy Duty Mechanic
Ed Started his career after achieving his heavy-duty mechanics’ license. He moved to Spruce Grove and pursued his career in the oilfield, working in the Drayton Valley area.
1999
Family Run Business
Certified with her National Construction and Safety Officer certificate Cristina worked for a family run pipeline business in procurement. She would rent heavy equipment from On-Trac Developments.
2013 -2015
Family Time
On-Trac Development was sold and raising their young family took priority. Together they built a beautiful new building in Spruce Grove, while they were raising their family. The new building was completed in 2015.
2019
Building a Strong Team
Darren has returned to Yellow Iron Worx and Ed and Cristina could not be happier. Darren is one of a kind, he is knowledgeable in every aspect of the business. He is their right-hand man and a large part of the everyday operations of the business.
1997
Early Beginnings
The entrepreneur in Ed realized there was an opportunity to start a business in heavy equipment rentals. He successfully opened a company called Yellow Tractor in Edmonton, Alberta.
2002
On the Move
Ed moved his business to Spruce Grove and changed the name to On-Trac Developments. Darren Fleck was a part of the team, together Ed and Darren continued to successfully grow the business meeting the demands of the rental industry, building up a solid reputation with his customers.
2018
New Beginnings
Ed and Cristina felt like something was still missing from their lives, even though they were busy raising their family. First of all they realized they missed being in the heavy equipment rental business and secondly and most noteworthy, they missed building customer relationships. Because of that they decided to opened the doors to Yellow Iron Worx. Running the business they love so much is the best fit for their family and as a result they believe teaching their kids to work hard is an added bonus.
